1 - The devastation of earthquakes
On November 14th 2016 a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit the south Island of New Zealand. This caused over NZ$900 million worth of damage to buildings, docks and other infrastructure. The following YouTube clip shows the level of damage done by this earthquake. |

In groups of three you will research two aspects of building design engineers have created to prevent damage from earthquakes and volcanos.
